Host: Matplus GmbH
The German Materials Society (DGM) is holding the training “Knowledge Management for Materials” on September 14 and 15, 2026 – and we at Matplus are pleased to host this renowned professional development course in our new premises at the Friedrichsarkaden in Wuppertal.
Why This Training Matters
In modern development and manufacturing companies, enormous volumes of material data are generated every day – in laboratories, test reports, simulations, supplier approvals and standards. Yet this knowledge often remains hidden in isolated systems, PDF archives or the minds of individual experts.
Only consistent digitization and structuring of material information enables systematic analysis – and thus creates a reliable foundation for:
- optimizing products and processes
- reproducible sampling and approvals
- mapping regulatory requirements (DPP, REACH, PCF)
- a genuine data basis for ICME, simulation and AI-supported materials development
Training Content
This practice-oriented course teaches the methodological and technical foundations of effective materials data management independently of specific software products:
- Structure and organization of materials databases
- Data models and exchange formats (e.g. VDA 231-301, JSON schemas)
- Integration with PLM, ERP and CAE systems
- Laboratory data management and digitization of test certificates
- Best practices from automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering
Our Offer as Host
As host, participants benefit not only from the modern infrastructure at the Friedrichsarkaden, but also from direct exchange with Matplus materials data experts. During breaks and at the joint evening event, there is an opportunity to discuss specific questions from your own practice.
Registration
Organization and registration are handled directly through the DGM Academy. Participation is limited – we recommend booking early.
