IT&Production 2025 - From Hypercubes to Material Cards for Simulations
IT&Production 20252025
A material such as AA7075 or 1.4310 is not just a label, but a hypercube of variability shaped by chemical composition, manufacturing routes, and heat treatment. The article explains how this multidimensional solution space can be organized with Matplus EDA® as a central knowledge system and made usable for simulation.
ESTAD 2025 - CO₂ Reporting & Material Flow Analysis for Circular Steel: A Physically Consistent Approach
ESTAD 20252025
The steel industry is responsible for a significant share of global CO₂ emissions and is therefore a focal point for sustainable transformation. For robust sustainability assessments, physically consistent material information based on mass and energy conservation principles is indispensable. However, integrating physical consistency into current CO₂ accounting methods remains a challenge for many existing approaches. This paper introduces a novel methodology that integrates physical consistency with reporting standards such as ESRS. By applying mathematical data reconciliation to systems of material and process flows, inconsistencies and missing data are systematically resolved. The approach enables transparent and reproducible assessment of steel products across their entire lifecycle—from raw material extraction to recycling—thereby providing a reliable foundation for circular economy decisions in the steel sector.
