MMPDS-25: The Global Aerospace Materials Standard - New Version Available

MMPDS (Metallic Materials Properties Development and Standardization) is the globally recognized standard for statistically validated material properties in safety-critical applications. The new MMPDS-25 version is now available with enhanced features and additive manufacturing data.

Wuppertal, July 24th, 2025:

The Global Aerospace Materials Standard

MMPDS is the worldwide recognized standard for statistically validated material properties in safety-critical applications. Authorities such as FAA, DoD, and NASA accept the published A-/B-/S-basis values as reliable foundations for certifications in the aerospace industry. The database delivers design-relevant mechanical and physical properties for hundreds of structural metals in various conditions, product forms, and dimensions. All data is collected and evaluated according to standardized statistical procedures.

In industrial practice, developers in the automotive and machinery industries also rely on MMPDS data alongside aerospace and space applications to accelerate development and certification processes.

MMPDS-25: Enhanced Features and Additive Manufacturing

The MMPDS database is maintained under the leadership of Battelle USA in cooperation with material manufacturers, aerospace companies, and authorities in a continuous process. The new MMPDS-25 contains the most current material data and evaluation methods recognized by FAA/DoD. Therefore, MMPDS-25 is the crucial information source for developers and certification engineers.

A strategically important innovation is the activities for additive manufacturing, which are integrated into Volume 2 of the MMPDS handbook. This expansion addresses the growing importance of additive manufacturing in aerospace applications.

Seamless Integration with Matplus EDA

Data integration into modern development processes is ensured with the Matplus version of MMPDS. Matplus EDA can be seamlessly integrated into CAD and CAE tools, allowing designers to work in their familiar environment for material selection and assignment for components, e.g., in Siemens NX, Catia, Creo, and Solidworks. Electronic workflows additionally contribute to securing and accelerating development processes.

Benefits for Engineers and Decision Makers

For engineers and decision-makers, the Matplus MMPDS-25 database provides a unified, highly reliable data foundation. The standardized values from MMPDS increase calculation accuracy, reduce testing efforts, and shorten development cycles. In safety-critical projects, they create planning and certification security.

The integration of MMPDS-25 into Matplus EDA as a flexibly expandable, company-wide master data system forms a central resource that provides reliable material data, seamless system integrations, and accelerated development processes.

Availability

The new version is available in various formats:

  • Online Subscription
  • Database integrated in Matplus EDA
  • Data sets for Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens NX
